Artwork Submission

Excellent prints begin with an excellent image. The three most common ways to acquire an image is to have the original piece professionally scanned, photographed or digitally created.

Photoartscape is a digital artist friendly printer.

If you are working with original artwork on paper, canvas or fabric we prefer to work from a scanned image. You will save time and money and will end up with a superior print if you have your artwork scanned. You pay a little more, but if scanned properly, it saves us time in color correcting and proofing and we gladly pass that savings on to you.

We also accept professionally photographed transparencies. We can even accomodate slides. The quality of the print, however is directly related to the quality of the image provided.

Our setup charge is as follows:
Our set up charge is only $75.00 if you provide a digital image from a professional scanning studio.

If you choose to have your art photographed by PHOTOArtscape, the charge is $100. If you are supplying a transparancy shot by a professional photographer it must must be a high quality 4x5 or 8x10 inch transparency. We will then scan the transparency, correct colors, clean the image, resize it and print up to three proofs as need to arrive at the color you desire ( see pre-press pricing page). If you decide to use a photographer, please make sure that a color bar is photographed along side the image and is included on the transparency. If you are in a hurry, please note that this method takes a bit longer.Whichever method you choose, we try to be as efficient as possible and we hope that the first proof we send you will be exactly what you want. But it doesn't always happen that way.

Before we begin this process, it is best to discuss each others' needs, so please drop us an email at art@photoartscape.com or Call 650-364-0504or 650-222-4068.

We only use acid free media and Equipoise pigments that combines the brilliance and color with prolonged UV-durability against fading. When requested, we coat canvas with Bull Dog Coating that protects the ink and media from the UV.

How long will a giclée print last? A lot longer than a lithographic print. There are so many factors to consider - including the handling of the print from the time that it is printed, prepared for shipment, mounted, framed and throughout the time it is displayed. We do everything possible to extend the life of a print short of compromising the brilliance of the image.
